We are the sponsoring entity for the TNECD ThreeStar program. ThreeStar is a strategic community development program developed to assist communities in preparing for a better future. The ThreeStar program now incorporates asset-based planning initiatives and a two-year timeline to accomplish goals. The asset-based planning component helps communities develop goals to maximize their local assets to drive economic development.

2021 Grant: FLCIDB is the sponsoring entity for the TNECD ThreeStar Grant program which was awarded a $37,000 ThreeStar Grant to purchase equipment to establish welding training at Tennessee College of Applied Technologies (TCAT) Fayetteville Campus at Lincoln Central Academy and to also purchase and install Blueway and Trail signage along the Elk River and Wells Hill Park. During the 1st quarter of 2022, some welding equipment and supplies have been delivered while some have been delayed due to supply chain issues. Boat entry points along the Elk River and trails within Wells Hill Park were GPS located and mapped. Progress continues for both projects and will be completed by the end of 2022.

2019 Grant: The Lincoln County ThreeStar program received a $24,000 grant. The funds from our ThreeStar grant were used to purchase equipment for an Information Technology and Infrastructure Management (cybersecurity) program, which is now a dual enrollment program offered by the TCAT-Shelbyville at Lincoln Central Academy. This was a need determined by community stakeholders during an asset-based planning meeting. FLCIDB serves as Lincoln County’s ThreeStar sponsoring entity for the program.

2017 Grant: The Lincoln County ThreeStar program received a $5,000 grant. The funds from the ThreeStar grant were used to host a Focus On Your Future Event which was a soft skills training event for middle school students in Lincoln County.
